Why radon testing?
Easy collection
EPA-guided results

Radon is an invisible, odorless, naturally occurring radioactive gas that can enter homes through cracks, pipes, drains, or cinder-block walls. Because radon exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., testing your home is essential for protecting your family’s health. The risk is even higher for smokers, as radon and tobacco smoke together greatly increase the chance of developing lung cancer.

Radon levels can vary widely between homes, even in the same neighborhood. Professional radon testing identifies areas of high concentration, helping you take action to reduce exposure and improve indoor air quality.

Regular testing is recommended for all homes, whether buying, selling, or living in your current residence. At-home radon test kits offer a convenient, reliable way to detect radon levels and gain peace of mind with actionable results.

Questions?

What is radon and why should I test for it?

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate in homes. Long-term exposure can increase the risk of lung-related health issues. Testing is the only way to know your home’s levels.

Where should I place my home radon test?

Place your Radon Sampler in a central room on the lowest level of the building suitable for occupancy, whether finished or unfinished.

How long does sample collection take?

For best results, we recommend exposing your Radon Sampler between 48 and 96 hours (2 to 4 days). Samplers exposed less than 2 days or more than 7 days are invalid.

How long does my sample last after collection?

To ensure accurate results, please ship your Radon Test as soon as you record your start and stop times. Your sample must arrive at our laboratory within 10 days of the stop date to remain valid. Prompt shipment helps us maintain the integrity of your test and provide reliable results.

When will I receive my result?

Once your test is received by our laboratory, Standard Radon results are typically emailed within 3–5 business days for standard service (estimated).

How does the Standard Radon Test differ from the Express Radon Test?

Both kits use the same testing method and provide the same type of results—the difference is in how quickly you receive those results and how the sample is returned to the lab.

-Standard Radon Test: Results are delivered 3–5 business days after your sample arrives at the lab. Standard kits do not include prepaid return shipping. You are responsible for returning the sample using your own box or envelope and applying postage. You may use any carrier you prefer.

-Express Radon Test: Express kits include a prepaid FedEx return envelope, so you can simply place the return shipper inside and drop it off at any FedEx location—no additional shipping cost. Once the lab receives your sample (by 10 AM), your results are processed the same day.

Do New Jersey residents have an additional fee?

Yes. New Jersey residents are required to pay a $10 state-mandated laboratory fee at the time of test registration. This fee is set by the state of New Jersey and is required before sample collection and result delivery. It is not controlled by us and applies to both Standard and Express Radon Test Kits.
